OCAD University’s Experiential Learning Program is excited to host an Industry Panel on Art, Design, and AI, featuring esteemed professionals Vladimir Somov, Lilian Chow, and Marco Barrettara.

Featured Panelists:

  • Vladimir Somov is a Principal Artist, Creative Consultant, and Art Educator with over a decade of experience in the video game and film industry. He has contributed to major franchises such as Assassin’s Creed, Gears of War, and many more. His clients include Blur Studio, Ubisoft, Nvidia, and Epic Games, among others. Most recently, he worked on the animated series Secret Level for Amazon Prime Video. The show had the largest debut for an animated series on the platform and was watched for approximately 155 million minutes in the U.S.

  • Lilian Chow is a senior world builder and a level architect who is currently working at EA Full Circle. Her strength is environmental storytelling and architecture in games. One of the most recently released games that she took part in is Redfall. It is an open world first-person shooter video game about vampires infiltrated a small town called Redfall in Massachusetts. She also worked on Far Cry 6, Watch Dogs Legion and Watch Dogs 2 prior to Redfall.

Marco Barrettara: A 3D Character Artist with varied background in the AAA space who creates characters that add humanity and depth to stories. He has extensive experience working on large-scale production pipelines to make a diverse range of characters that includes heroes, villains, and everyday people too. Marco has been with Ubisoft for almost 10 years.

This event offers a unique opportunity for OCAD students from various disciplines—including illustration, design, animation, and interactive media—to gain valuable insights from industry leaders. Attendees will learn about the evolving role of AI in creative fields, strategies for portfolio development, and pathways to career success.
